The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
The Baxter YMCA does this through the efforts of our leadership team, our Christian Emphasis Committee, Young Life, The Vineyard Community Church, Young Vineyard, and our Volunteer Chaplain program.
We strive to demonstrate the love of Christ in all that we do.

Our goal at Baxter is to build healthy spirit in and through YMCA staff, volunteers, and members by loving, serving, and caring for our YMCA Family.
The Christian Emphasis Committee is a group of dedicated Christians who help the YMCA live out our mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

The Vineyard exists to lift the voice of truth and redemption and to tangibly serve the needs of people, leading God's creation home to Him, where there is healing and hope from the depression, confusion and anxiety of our exhausting world. This is God's love lived in action.

From humble beginnings in living rooms, our story has always been a story about the presence of God, and how He transforms people. We are not built on presentations or performances, we're built on God's presence, transcendent of cultures and buildings, which makes our current meeting space a perfect picture of what we're all about.

The Vineyard Community Church serves central Indiana from the south side of Indianapolis, gathering each weekend at the Baxter YMCA. We are not here by accident, we are here on mission. Through our friendship with the YMCA we are directly connected to unreached communities of teenagers and families, as we invest in the next generation to know truth and experience love.

Young Life is an outreach club for high schoolers to come have fun, hang out with friends, and learn about God. Kids from any school are welcome to come!

Young Vineyard, part of the Vineyard Community Church, is for students in middle and high school to come as they are and connect with other students and leaders through organized games and small groups.

Young Vineyard meets every Sunday morning at 11:30am at the Baxter YMCA.

As part of putting our Christian principles into practice, the YMCA has volunteer chaplains throughout the association, the Baxter YMCA included!

Chaplains are unique in that they offer a ministry of presence.

Chaplains come from many different Christian traditions and are called to walk with others of all religious backgrounds – even those who are not religious.

Chaplains are here to listen in times of struggle, to celebrate in times of joy, to offer prayer, and sometimes even a laugh.

Our chaplains at the Baxter YMCA are here to support members, volunteers, and staff. If you would like to speak to a chaplain, please see a member of our front desk team and they will be happy to help you get in touch with a chaplain.

Need prayer? We're here for you!

Drop your prayer request in the Prayer Box in the lobby of the YMCA. Every request is lifted in prayer daily by someone who cares.

Prefer prayer in person? A chaplain is also regularly present at the YMCA, offering a listening ear, encouragement, and prayer.
