Our Purpose

We exist to show God’s love in practical ways through meeting the needs of our community in a practical fashion. The Care Center offers practical and spiritual support to individuals and families in the surrounding communities of Central Indiana.

We want every person who is passionate about helping people to be able to use their skills and God-given SHAPE to impact people for Christ and extend the caring hand of the Kingdom of God.

Our Story

The Care Center is a not-for-profit ministry of Vineyard Community Church and is an outreach ministry to the people of Southern Indianapolis and Johnson County. What began as a small food pantry (the VCC Food Bank), has grown into a larger food ministry (The Marketplace), and a clothing ministry (The Wearhouse).

The Care Center helps nearly 100 families a month by providing food and clothing, as well as physical and spiritual needs, while keeping the love of Jesus at the center. Our mission is to love people in practical ways, while pointing them to a path of entering into a growing relationship with Jesus.

We are located at 514 S. Madison Ave., Greenwood, IN 46142. The facility is located in the southwest end of the church parking lot. Parking is located in the front of the building.

If you yourself are in need or know someone who is, please come in any Monday.

The Care Center is open to anyone who could use the help.

What Happens When I Visit?

The Care Center is open every Monday night of each month unless otherwise noted due to weather or holiday rescheduling. In order to receive assistance you must sign-in.

You do not have to be a resident of Johnson County to receive assistance. The Care Center is not zip code specific. If you have a genuine need and provide the required documentation, you may receive assistance. In order to receive assistance, a picture ID is required.

  • Utility bill showing current address
